The Diyarbakır Zinciriye Medresesi should not be mistaken for the Mardin Zinciriye Medresesi (and there seem to be others). It was open for visitors during the 2025 cultural festival and felt like a very old building. However, in this form it seems to date from 2006.
I visited once when no one was in (the caretaker was praying in the nearby Ulu Camii). I took pictures with my mobile. A few days later I returned with Nikons and found it was in use, but I could take pictures anyhow.
On the web it is indicated it is originally from about the time of the Mesudiye Medresesi, also flanking the Great Mosque.
